Quite possibly the only good thing that came of the swing revival of '97. 1997 was a phenomenal year for modern-rock and pop music; we haven't seen a year like it since and most likely won't again. At least we'll always have "Hell".
Great tune. Another benefit of the short-lived swing revival thing was Andrew Bird sorta making his debut with the album "Thrills." Check out the tune Glass Figurine.
I actually viewed the swing revival as a generally positive phenomena, but I agree that the Zippers were the best thing to come out of it. Hearing this single actually caused me to go out and buy the album (which I realize is a commonplace for a lot of people, but is very, very rare for me). I only wish the band had been around when I was 10 and obsessed with the 1920s.

This posting inspired me to break out Hot and listen to while washing the dishes. It brought back many memories.
