Friday Funtime: Pop Argot's Top 10 KISS Songs

My brother had a birthday this week. As he, like thousands of other guys in his age demographic, is the World's Biggest KISS Fan, here in tribute are my 10 favorite KISS songs (ordered, but not strictly in order). Lick them up with someone you love.

1. I Was Made for Lovin' You
2. Detroit Rock City
3. I Stole Your Love
4. Love Gun
5. I Want You
6. Hard Luck Woman
7. 100,000 Years
8. What Makes the World Go 'Round
9. Save Your Love
10. God Gave Rock & Roll to You II

I'm partial to "You Put the 'X' in Sex" ("love is like a muscle and you make me wanna flex" -- WTF?) and "Flaming Youth", which used to make a great 1-2-punch with Alice Cooper's "Department of Youth". And their cover of "And Then (S)he Kissed Me" is quite criminally underrated IMHO.

I find the vitriol expressed in the comments to those videos kind of amazing. Why devote such energy? If you don't like it, don't listen. And it seems like there's a guy on each thread who's getting really pissed 'cause they're a "sell out."

Well--yeah! No kidding--I thought that was their who point. Fucking rock and roll--bitches and money!

Of course, it ain't very good rock and roll, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

PS: The lamest, but biggest sing-a-long high school jack up the car radio anthem: Crazy Crazy Nights.

Gene Simmons himself said it best: "Sellout? You're damn right I sell out - every night!"

Even in these days of nigh-instant worldwide communication, it remains tragically easy to miss a memo. If the internet has taught me anything, it's that there are people everywhere who take any random subject you can think of very seriously.
